Materials, supply chain services, and digital solutions for the automotive industry

tk accelis (formerly thyssenkrupp Materials Services) supports automotive manufacturers and suppliers with a broad range of material solutions, customized material processing, and flexible supply chain services. The range of services extends from dimensionally accurate parts and demand-driven delivery concepts to digital solutions for transparent material and data flows.

By combining material expertise, processing, and logistics, procurement and supply can be managed in a consolidated manner. Even short-term changes in demand can be integrated into existing delivery processes. In this way, tk accelis enables companies to organize their production processes efficiently and reliably.

Closed-loop material cycles for the automotive industry

The Automotive Circularity Platform, or ACP for short, aims to return materials from end-of-life vehicles back into the automotive value chain. The project is run by tk accelis in collaboration with its partner Novelis.

The initial focus is on aluminum. Although the material is recycled at the end of a vehicle’s life, it often does not return to automotive production with the same quality. To achieve a closed-loop system, scrap must be sorted by type, processed, and made traceable.

To this end, the ACP connects companies along the value chain. It provides transparency regarding the origin, quality, quantity, and transport of materials and supports end-to-end traceability. This enables the more targeted use of high-quality secondary materials, conserves primary raw materials, and reduces CO₂ emissions. Together, the platform is being gradually developed and tested under real-world conditions. The goal is a scalable solution for closed-loop material cycles in the automotive industry.
