The scope of thyssenkrupp Automotive´s capabilities extends from chassis technologies such as steering and damping systems to the assembly of axle systems and the production of engine components for conventional and alternative drive systems. In addition, the company specializes in the production of springs and stabilizers for vehicles of various types as well as track suspension components and systems. The expertise also extends to the development of assembly lines for body construction and the volume production of lightweight body parts.
Automotive Technology thus covers the entire value chain: from the development and manufacture of high-performance components through mechanical processing to the assembly of highly complex systems. Mechatronic solutions with electronics and software developed in-house are playing an increasingly important role.

Damper

thyssenkrupp Damper supplies the original equipment (OE) and aftermarket (AM) segments. There are currently over 4,500 employees working for thyssenkrupp Damper around the world. The company headquarters are at the location where it was originally founded, in Ennepetal, Germany.
Steering systems
The product portfolio ranges from the production of forged components to steering systems based on proprietary product technology. All products deliver a technological edge through their lightweight design. Highly automated production using in-house manufacturing technology enables cost advantages – even in high-wage countries.
Axle assembly
As a competent global system supplier of assembly and logistics services to the automotive industry, the Business Unit draws on experience gained from setting up more than 20 locations worldwide. The service portfolio reduces complexity in the supply chain and in production, enabling a high number of product variants for end customers. Currently, seven locations worldwide offer services and assembly solutions for chassis and powertrain – from prototypes to series parts – as well as the implementation of customized logistics concepts. All processes, from supplier management to just-in-sequence assembly and delivery of ready-to-install systems, are managed to customer specifications.

Drivetrain Components
Assembled camshafts and cylinder head cover modules enable weight savings and contribute to reducing emissions. As an essential core component of electric drives, rotor shafts are manufactured in a weight-optimized design.
Cold Forging & Steering Components
Using state-of-the-art cold forging technology, the company manufactures highly precise ready for assembly components for driveline and steering systems. The solutions also ensure reliable power transmission from the engine to the wheels throughout the driveline – delivering a driving experience that excites.
eA/C Compressor
With the increasing electrification of vehicles and growing demands for fast charging and environmental friendliness, effective thermal management is essential. The electrical A/C compressor with PFAS-free refrigerant meets these requirements.

Stabilizers
Stabilizers are an important component of the vehicle suspension. They prevent the vehicle body from swaying in curves or on an uneven roadway to ensure better positioning.
