ThyssenKrupp Xervon - Services for the process industry under a new name
ThyssenKrupp Xervon stands for advanced services in the (petro)chemical, power and other areas of the processing sector. At present, a team from this group is working on a gas production platform in the Northfield Alpha, one of the world´s largest independent gas fields. Here, on a gigantic offshore plant belonging to Qatar Petroleum, the team is busy renewing corrosion and fire proofing, from the living quarters up to the helicopter deck as well as the splash zone of the platform legs mounted on the seabed.
The range of services reaches from basic scaffolding, insulation, surface protection and piping via machinery and plant engineering to instrumentation and the flexible incorporation of these skills into so-called service modules right down to the takeover of all-in location services such as at the chemical industry parks in Münchsmünster and Cologne-Merkenich. The operation of such sites includes budgeting, maintenance planning and execution, infrastructural services, the operation of auxiliary plant such as nitrogen and steam distribution units or complete clarification plants. ThyssenKrupp Xervon also has over 30 years of experience in the maintenance of petrochemical plants and in carrying out shutdowns on behalf of the process industry.
The multi-trade complexity of its services has prompted ThyssenKrupp Xervon to go for in-creased skills enhancement on the part of its employees and so as of January 1, 2006, the Group has set up the Institute ManTis (Management Training in Services), an organization organized to train employees worldwide in the management of services modules. As result, advanced training practiced hitherto in multi-trade site supervision and management for the basic services of scaffolding, insulation, and corrosion gains an added dimension.
The Group, a member of ThyssenKrupp Services AG, Düsseldorf, is represented throughout Germany besides having international bases in Switzerland, Austria, Benelux, Spain, Scandinavia, the Middle East, and Asia. In line with the local character of its activities, ThyssenKrupp Xervon manages business in and across regions through locations. Complex projects are con-solidated and multiregional or multi-national handled and executed according to the same uniform quality standards worldwide.
ThyssenKrupp Xervon has a worldwide staff of 9,200 that generates annual sales of 890 million euros (including its US subsidiary Safway). The Management Board consists of Rolf-Bernd Maas (Chairman), Georg Kürfgen, and Hans-Rudolf Orgs.
