ThyssenKrupp Steel announces today, that it has entered into discussions with the two Japanese steel companies NKK Corporation and Kawasaki Steel Corporation on potential global strategic cooperation.

The discussions are building upon the past talks between the Flat Carbon Steel subsidiary Thyssen Krupp Stahl AG and NKK for a cooperation regarding steel sheet for automotive use. They aim at providing better service to customers with global activities. In addition, it is intended to examine the possibilities of a cooperation in stainless steel, electrical sheet, tinplate and heavy plate in order to optimally exploit the companies` core capabilities and possible synergy potential.
