ThyssenKrupp Presta develops new parameter steering system
The new VMZ® system enhances classic parameter steering by improving responsiveness to manual torque at high speeds, reacting to even the slightest of wheel movements. The driver feels this as a palpable gain in driving stability and safety. Unwanted steering movements are kept to a minimum, and the car remains firmly under control. The inherent increase in steering sensitivity as speed increases is compensated. This provides for high steering comfort when driving at high speeds.
The enhanced manual torque is available right from the start to allow for safe driving in all conditions. Even long, high-speed highway journeys become a relaxed experience with maximum comfort.
Maximum steering assistance is provided at low speeds, making maneuvering and parking particularly easy. The parameter steering system also offers improved on-center feel, requiring no additional manual force as is the case with mechanical systems, while improved sensitivity to the road surface helps make driving even more enjoyable.
An additional bonus is the option of designing the steering as an adaptive system to meet differing individual driver requirements.
