ThyssenKrupp Presta Camshafts expands in Liechtenstein
By September 2008 3500 square meters of factory work floor and 1600 square meters of office space will be ready for almost 200 employees. With this size ThyssenKrupp Presta TecCenter will be one of the 20 biggest industrial companies in Liechtenstein.
As Technology Center for assembled camshafts the new site will be responsible for serial research and development, project management, construction as well as production planning and process engineering for the whole camshaft group.
The new company includes prototyping of camshafts and valve gear components, developing and optimising of assembly- and process technologies as well as small series of assembled camshafts for cars and trucks for the Presta Camshaft Group worldwide.
Furthermore will ThyssenKrupp Presta Center provide valve gear components for car racing and will be responsible for essential technical inputs for assembled camshafts.
The assembled camshaft business started during the eighties in Eschen. Today (including the new company) 5 production sites form the worldwide Presta Camshaft Group (Ilsenburg/Sachsen-Anhalt (DE), Chemnitz (DE), Danville (USA) and Dalian (China). The flagship is ThyssenKrupp Presta Ilsenburg (formed in 1998).
