ThyssenKrupp partners "ProSieben Knowledge Award"
"Simplify your life" is the slogan for the 2006 "ProSieben Knowledge Award", a popular science competition staged by German TV station ProSieben to promote new talent and ideas. This year's competition is being run in exclusive partnership with ThyssenKrupp, representing a further step in the company's efforts to support technical education and training for children and young people.
In addition to the "ProSieben Knowledge Award", ThyssenKrupp also supports the "Jugend forscht" foundation for young researchers and has launched its own initiative "Discovering future technology". From May 20 to 28, 2006, the company is staging its "Ideas Park" in Hanover, a major technology event at which the "ProSieben Knowledge Award" will also be presented. Numerous partners to the Ideas Park from the areas of education, science, technology and the media will invite a broad public - from children and parents to students and experts - to take a look behind the scenes of research, development and innovation work.
"The 'ProSieben Knowledge Award' shows how technology can be made popular with young people. It fits in perfectly with ThyssenKrupp's goal of raising enthusiasm for technology in all areas of society, and especially among the younger generation," says Dr. Jürgen Claassen, Chief Communications Officer at ThyssenKrupp. Starting January 7, 2006, ProSieben will be running trailers announcing the competition and encouraging people to enter. The winners will be presented at a ProSieben show at the end of May as part of the Ideas Park in Hanover.
