thyssenkrupp Marine Systems restructures leadership team
The Industrial Solutions business area is in a process of realignment under its “planets” transformation program. The aim is to focus all business units as well as Marine Systems even more firmly on customers, markets and international service business. In addition Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jens Michael Wegmann plans to further strengthen growth and efficiency at Industrial Solutions and drive forward culture change. To this end the business area’s organizational and management structures were analyzed in depth and the overall transformation program “planets” adopted.
In this connection thyssenkrupp Marine Systems has reorganized its leadership team. Dr. Peter Feldhaus (49), head of strategy at thyssenkrupp AG, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective October 1. Former CEO Andreas Burmester (53) will become Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Completing the team as previously are Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Evelyn Müller (55) and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Dr. Sabine Maaßen (50). “With the new management line-up we will embed Marine Systems much more firmly in Industrial Solutions’ overall strategy, gain increased penetration to develop new business, and improve customer satisfaction,” says Jens Michael Wegmann, CEO of Industrial Solutions. Against the background of fierce competition, CEO Dr. Peter Feldhaus will link strategy and sales more closely, integrate them in the overall strategy of Industrial Solutions and leverage synergies. In the newly created functions of COO and CTO, Andreas Burmester will bring his many years of experience to the previously separate areas of project management, engineering and production. Evelyn Müller (55) is Marine Systems’ CFO. Alongside the areas of IT, finance & controlling and risk management, she will now additionally be responsible for purchasing and compliance. Dr. Sabine Maaßen will be responsible for Legal and as CHRO will realign cooperation and interfaces within Marine Systems.
Dr. Hans Christoph Atzpodien (61), will step down from the board of Industrial Solutions on September 30, 2016, but will remain available to Marine Systems in an advisory capacity for some months. Dieter Rottsieper (56), previously responsible for sales, will step down from the board of Marine Systems at October 1 and will remain available to the company to work on individual projects. Torsten Könker (53), previously responsible for compliance and project strategy, will leave the board on October 1 and take on a new position as a project leader at Industrial Solutions. thyssenkrupp thanks Dr. Hans Christoph Atzpodien, Dieter Rottsieper and Torsten Könker for their work for the Group over the past years.
Dr. Peter Feldhaus’ successor as head of strategy for the thyssenkrupp Group will be Andreas Ruks (42). Ruks is currently deputy head of strategy, markets & development, prior to which he was involved in the establishment of thyssenkrupp Management Consulting GmbH, of which he was also head. Before joining thyssenkrupp, Andreas Ruks worked for the Boston Consulting Group and Henkel AG & Co. KGaA and therefore has a proven track record in consulting as well as extensive industrial expertise.
