ThyssenKrupp Elevator (India) expands to new location in Bangalore
ThyssenKrupp Elevator (India) Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp Elevator AG based in Düsseldorf, Germany, one of the largest elevator companies worldwide, has opened up a new office in Bangalore - the Silicon Valley of India.
The office is easily accessible and is located in one of the prime business areas of the city - Brigade Road. With 283 employees, it will serve as Headquarter of southern region controlling 14 branch offices and 21 service centers spread over 6 provinces. Speaking about this development, Mr. Horst Linde, Managing Director of ThyssenKrupp Elevator (India) Pvt. Ltd., said: "The move is reflective of our commitment to the Indian market in general and to the southern region in particular due to growing demand for Hi-Tech elevators and escalators in this region". He further added, "We are actively looking forward to expand our business in India".
Only recently ThyssenKrupp Elevator (India) has signed a big contract for supply and installation of 19 escalators and 14 elevators state-of-the-art at the Star Mall in Bangalore - the largest single contract of its kind ever in India.
ThyssenKrupp Elevator (India) started its operation in October 2002. The company currently has more than 80 branches with 4 regional offices at New Delhi, Pune, Calcutta and Bangalore.
Major reference projects in India are: Cochin International Airport, Atlantis Multiplex in Allahabad, T3 Mall in Agra and Raj Multiplex in Surat.
Also in the area of elevator modernization or new installations ThyssenKrupp Elevator sets new benchmarks. TWIN, the most recent innovation of ThyssenKrupp Elevator, will be actively marketed in India. It is a sophisticated elevator system with two cars - one arranged upon the other - in one single shaft. The two cars are not connected with each other and can drive independently to different levels using the same track. Its main advantages are higher lift capacities and less construction volume. Taking for example a group of four conventional elevators - that is one elevator per shaft - 40 % more passengers can quickly move from one level to the other while also adding 25 % more available space. The TWIN elevator system has won several awards including the most recent "Elevator World Project of the Year Award".
ThyssenKrupp Elevator is the third-largest elevator company in the world and has a presence in more than 60 countries at over 800 locations. With over 30,000 employees, the company achieved sales of around 3.4 billion euros in the fiscal year to September 30, 2003. Capabilities include passenger and freight elevators, escalators and moving walks, stair and platform lifts, passenger boarding bridges as well as high-quality service for the entire product range.
