ThyssenKrupp donates DM250,000 for victims of Indian earthquake
ThyssenKrupp AG is providing DM250,000 in aid for the victims of the Indian earthquake. Dr. Gerhard Cromme and Prof. Dr. Ekkehard Schulz, Executive Board chairmen, said: "It is important to provide help in the disaster area as quickly as possible to ease the immeasurable suffering of the people there."
ThyssenKrupp AG executive Dr. Gerhard Jooss chairs the steering committee of the economic council for India within the German industry Asia-Pacific council and has called on the industry to provide assistance: "We know how hard India has been hit by this natural disaster and what a setback it is for the country's development. Our traditionally strong relations with India give us a particular responsibility to help the people there."
