Supply Vessel BERLIN at Nobiskrug for Overhaul
The Rendsburg-based shipyard Nobiskrug - a company of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems - has won the order for the overhaul and repair of the Supply Vessel BERLIN. With a length of 173.70 m and a width of 24 m the BERLIN, together with the FRANKFURT, is the largest vessel of the German Navy.
Because of its volume, the order is of great significance to the repair sector of Nobiskrug.
In the course of the overhaul in the time from August 15 to November 23, 2006, the paintwork both inside and outside will be renewed, the interior accommodation and the deck equipment repaired, the mechanical equipment including the propulsion plant overhauled and work on the pipe system and the electrical equipment performed. The overhaul will be carried out with the vessel docked at ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems' HDW in Kiel.
