The Supervisory Board of ThyssenKrupp AG convened for a routine meeting today. The agenda centered on the approval of the consolidated financial statements and the Executive Board's dividend proposal for the Annual Stockholders' Meeting on March 2, 2001.

The Executive Board will present the financial statements for the 1999/2000 fiscal year at the Annual Press Conference on Monday, January 15, 2001.

The Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Heinz Kriwet, informed the board that after a number of questions have been clarified he is prepared to step down as Supervisory Board Chairman in due course to permit the election of Dr. Cromme as Chairman of the Supervisory Board and confirm Prof. Dr. Schulz as Executive Board Chairman. Dr. Kriwet expressly stated that in his judgement there is no need either practical or in relation to the persons involved - Executive Board, twin chairmen, Supervisory Board Chairman - for such a step. The intention is to reach agreement before the Annual Stockholders' Meeting on March 2, 2001, with regard to the steps to be implemented subsequently.
