Statewide Tivoli contract signed for Bavarian universities - Triaton is now Germany's largest provider of IBM Tivoli system management solutions for institutions of higher education
After Baden-Württemberg and North Rhine-Westphalia, the Triaton GmbH, Krefeld, has now also signed a statewide Tivoli contract for the Bavarian state universities. Triaton is consequently Germany`s largest provider of IBM Tivoli system management solutions for universities.
The principal client is - on behalf of the Bavarian State Department - the Munich-based Leibnitz Computer Center. The contact has a term of five years. Triaton was awarded the contract based on its excellent Tivoli references from the other German states.
Triaton, an IBM Premier Business Partner, provides the Bavarian universities with the "Monitoring" and "Enterprise Console" licenses and, under the contract, is entrusted with complete storage management (data protection/archiving) as well as identity management (central administration of users). Add to this complex consulting services. The products used are being brought into play in an extremely heterogeneous client/server system landscape. The storage area alone encompasses nearly 8,000 processors.
Ultimately, with its support of the Leibnitz Computer Center and Amberg-Weiden, Augsburg, Eichstaett, Munich, Regensburg, Passau, and Würzburg Universities, Triaton plays a central role in electronic data administration for a total of over 100,000 students.
