ThyssenKrupp has received approval in the USA for the sale of the ThyssenKrupp Steel USA rolling and coating plant in Calvert/Alabama. The expiry on January 29, 2014 of the premerger waiting period, during which the proposed combination was reviewed, signals the conclusion of the approval process by the US antitrust authorities. This represents an important step towards completion of the transaction. The closing is still subject to the approval of further regulatory authorities in other countries.
