Reduced consumption and emissions
The Presta DeltaValveControl varies engine valve lift and opening angle on a continuous basis. In particular in part-load operation, this leads to a considerable reduction in fuel consumption for gasoline engines. Furthermore, in IC and diesel engines, variable valve timing at a low valve stroke rate permits faster valve intake and higher exhaust gas recirculation rates. The resultant advantages are enhanced energy efficiency and combustion while significantly reducing the share of hazardous emissions. This significantly reduces the amount of exhaust after-treatment needed. In addition to these advantages, engines fitted with Presta DeltaValveControl offer further positive effects, including greater load change responsiveness, greater torque and improved engine braking. As a result, the Presta DeltaValveControl reduces fuel consumption, operating costs and emissions while offering better handling.
The Presta DeltaValveControl can be mounted on an existing cylinder head as a separate module to realize fully adjustable stroke control and all associated advantages. As the components can be arranged flexibly, the system can alternatively be integrated into a cylinder head at comparably little expense to generate further advantages with respect to packaging, cost and function. With the Presta DeltaValveControl, ThyssenKrupp Presta has developed a forward-looking product for IC engines today and in the future.
