Professor Dr.-Ing. Lothar Jaeschke approaching 70
The former chairman of the Uhde Executive Board, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lothar Jaeschke, will celebrate his 70th birthday on November 15, 2000.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jaeschke was born in 1930 in Frankfurt and studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt. He began his professional career at Hoechst AG in Frankfurt in 1961 and was appointed to the Executive Board of the then Uhde GmbH, a subsidiary of Hoechst AG, in 1971, being elected chairman in 1981.
In addition to his professional duties, Lothar Jaeschke actively promoted training and research in the field of process engineering. In 1978 he took up an active role in the faculty of mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt. His lectureship "Design, construction and operation of industrial-scale chemical plants" constituted a necessary supplement to the process-related fundamental principles of the lectures.
Against this background he was appointed honorary professor by the Hessian minister for education and cultural affairs in 1984 at the request of the mechanical engineering faculty of the Technical University of Darmstadt.
