Production Systems: three major orders for Hüller Hille, Diedesheim Plant
In May and June 2000 the Diedesheim plant of Hüller Hille GmbH received three large orders for a total of 38 machining centers worth around 20.5 million euros, taking the total order intake of the plant in the first three quarters of the current fiscal year (ends September 30, 2000) to around 60 million euros, close to its full-year target.
The new orders are from the automotive industry and include all models from the successful nbh series. A world leading automotive systems supplier has ordered 16 nbh 110 high-speed machining centers to machine fuel injection pumps. A European truck manufacturer has ordered six nbh 290 machines to produce truck rear axle brackets.
The order from the world’s biggest powertrain and chassis specialist comprises a total of 16 machines of types nbh 170 to nbh 350, also including four nbh 95 machining centers. The entry-level nbh 95, unveiled at METAV 2000 in June, has an unusually high torque of 327 newtonmeters for its price class and is ideal for machining cast iron and steel parts.
Hüller Hille GmbH is a Thyssen Production Systems (TPS) company. Thyssen Production Systems (a business unit of ThyssenKrupp Industries) brings together the Group’s machine building activities in the field of production systems. As the world’s biggest supplier of production systems TPS generated sales of 1.3 billion euros in the 1998/99 fiscal year and employed over 8,000 people.
