Changes in the Executive Board of thyssenkrupp Automotive Technology
Dr. Volkmar Dinstuhl will take over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Automotive Technology segment at thyssenkrupp on October 1, 2024. He succeeds Dr. Karsten Kroos, who is retiring as planned at the end of this fiscal year after a career spanning more than thirty years in the thyssenkrupp Group. He will continue to advise thyssenkrupp's automotive segment until further notice. Volkmar Dinstuhl will assume the role of CEO in the automotive segment in personal union with his function as a member of the Executive Board of thyssenkrupp AG.
After his doctorate, Volkmar Dinstuhl began his career in the thyssenkrupp Group in 2003 at thyssenkrupp AG in the Mergers & Acquisitions division. In 2008, he took over as Chief Financial Officer of the Accessibility business unit in the Group's elevator division. In 2009, he was appointed Head of Mergers & Acquisitions for the entire Group. In 2020, he took over as CEO of the thyssenkrupp Multi Tracks portfolio segment. In January of this year, Volkmar Dinstuhl was appointed to the Executive Board of thyssenkrupp AG. He is responsible for the Group function Mergers & Acquisitions, the Automotive Technology segment and the China region.

Dr. Karsten Kroos joined the thyssenkrupp Group in 1990. He was initially Head of Corporate Planning at Hoesch AG and later Head of Controlling at Fried. Krupp AG Hoesch-Krupp. In 1993 he moved to Sales Strategy at Krupp Hoesch Automotive GmbH, where he was appointed Head of Technology in 1996. From 1996 to 1999, he was also Managing Director of Krupp Automotive Systems GmbH. In 2002, he was appointed a member of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp Automotive AG. In October 2009, he took over as Chairman of the Executive Board of the Components Technology business area. In October 2019, he was appointed CEO of the Automotive Technology segment at thyssenkrupp.
Furthermore, Viktor Molnar will take over the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at thyssenkrupp Automotive Technology with effect from November 18, 2024. He succeeds Frank Altag, who has held the position alongside his other duties as CEO of the Dynamic Components business unit since 2018. Frank Altag will return to this CEO role again entirely.
Viktor Molnar joins thyssenkrupp from international automotive supplier Aptiv, where he was most recently Vice President, Managing Director of Advanced Safety and User Experience EMEA, with full profit responsibility for the entire European OEM business. The trained mechanical engineer began his professional career in 1999 as a process engineer at the Dutch technology group Phillips in Hungary. From 2000 to 2021, he held various positions with increasing responsibility for the automotive sector at Robert Bosch in Hungary, China and Germany. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President of the Advanced Network Solutions business unit. After working as Head of Chassis Systems at Schaeffler AG, Viktor Molnar moved to the Irish-American automotive supplier Aptiv Plc. at the end of 2021.
