Nordseewerke delivers a further 2,700 TEU Container Ship
With the participation of 400 guests and representatives of the shipping company and the shipyard, the hand-over ceremony of the container ship with the yard number 549 took place today. Immediately before the handover the ship was christened NONA. This ship is the second 2,700 TEU container ship which was ordered by the Meerbusch-based GEBAB and built by Nordseewerke, a company of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems. The owner of the ship is the Elsfleth-based shipping company MARTIME.
The traditionally good relationship between the shipyard and the customer GEBAB contributed essentially to the successful marketing of this ship class. Orders for four additional ships of this series and two considerably larger ones with a capacity of 3,400 TEU (number of 20' standard containers) have been placed at the shipyard by GEBAB.
