Noncombustible roof panel from ThyssenKrupp Hoesch Bausysteme
ThyssenKrupp Hoesch Bausysteme GmbH will be presenting a newly developed noncombustible roofing panel called isorock integral® D at Bau 2005 in Munich. The steel sandwich panel is based on the successful isorock® wall panel from ThyssenKrupp Hoesch Bausysteme GmbH and likewise consists of steel outer shells firmly bonded to a rockwool core. The isorock® wall panel has been classified as an A2 noncombustible building material since November 2003. This classification will also apply to the new roof panel. isorock integral® D is the only rockwool core roof panel on the market to have a virtually flat outer shell and can be installed with concealed fastenings.
The flat surface of the roof panel facilitates the installation of ventilation ducts and dampers. The openings for these are easy to create with isorock integral® D roofs and can be reliably sealed. The concealed fastening of the roof panel is also designed to prevent leaks from the outset. The cover strips for the longitudinal joints are factory-fitted with sealing strips and protect the roof from rain and snow. A factory-fitted sealing strip on the inner shell of the roof panel acts as a vapor barrier.
isorock integral® D roof panels are available in thicknesses of 95, 115, 135 and 155 millimeters. The outer and inner shells consist of steel with a color coating applied by the coil coating method on top of a hot dipped alloy coating consisting of 95 percent zinc and 5 percent aluminum. Because the surface is flat without trapezoidal profiling, almost the complete height of the panel is available for the insulating rockwool core. This results in a heat transfer coefficient of only 0.29 to 0.46 depending on panel thickness. The panels are available in lengths from 1.5 meters up to 15.5 meters depending on thickness. Other lengths are in preparation.
Tests to determine the fire resistance class of the roof panel are being carried out at present. The isorock® wall panel is of identical design and meets the requirements of fire resistance class F 90 in thicknesses from 100 millimeters. In thicknesses above 120 millimeters it complies with fire resistance class F 120.
