New perspectives: Hoesch Siegerlandwerke, ThyssenKrupp Bausysteme and ThyssenKrupp Stahl at BAU 2003 in Munich
The 15th Bau show takes place in Munich from January 13 to 18, 2003. In recent years, Europe`s largest fair for building materials, building systems and building innovations has expanded further and underlined its role as Europe`s leading show and an international trendsetter. ThyssenKrupp Stahl and its subsidiaries Hoesch Siegerlandwerke GmbH (hall B 2, booth 427/526) and ThyssenKrupp Bausysteme GmbH (hall B 2, booth 521) will be at the show giving visitors insights into the use of steel in building.
For Hoesch Siegerlandwerke the central theme will be the use of color in commercial and industrial construction. The company will demonstrate the potential that steel offers for facade construction. With the newly created color collection ReflectionsOne, building designers can now say goodbye to standard industrial gray or white and weathered blue or brown and say hello to individuality and living colors thanks to organic coil coated sheet from ThyssenKrupp Stahl.
The company will also be presenting Isorock Vario fire protection elements, featuring a non-combustible mineral wool core and invisible fastening. These building elements were recently awarded A 2 classification (DIN EN 13501) and can thus be used for fire protection walls. Hoesch Siegerlandwerke is the first German company to achieve this classification. In addition to the new roofing system Isodach Mono, which enables straightforward piercing - for example to allow rooflight dome installation - other attractions on display will include the combination possibilities of sandwich facade elements with Hoesch Isowand Vario and Hoesch Isowelle.
Finally, Hoesch Siegerlandwerke will be focusing on surface textures and conducting a survey among visitors to find out their preferences for the launch of a new facade steel - small honeycomb patterns, large honeycombs or microprofiled panels.
ThyssenKrupp Stahl will be presenting the use of steel in architecture and demonstrating the requirements involved in cost-efficient building construction. One highlight will be the presentation of the special structural steel FR 30, which resists fire for 30 minutes and through combination with an extremely thin fire protection coating can even meet fire resistance class F 90 requirements. In addition, Davex profiles for facade construction will be on display. Made by roll jointing, these permit a mix of materials over the profile cross section and are suitable for use for example as structural profiles in modern architecture. Another highlight will be the new steelArt sheet elements, developed by ThyssenKrupp Stahl specifically for curtain walls and produced by hydroforming, which offer building specialists a host of new possibilities in facade design.
ThyssenKrupp Bausysteme will be presenting state-of-the-art Thyssen-Solartec solar elements both as a single-wall facade solution and as a heat-insulating thermal roof element, which can be produced in lengths of up to 20 meters: These high-tech photovoltaic elements based on sheet profiles can be integrated harmoniously into buildings and facades and offer up to 20 percent higher energy yields compared with conventional solar modules thanks to the use of innovative thin-film cell technology from Uni-Solar. In addition, the new sandwich wall Thyssen-thermowand Formtec will be on display with its refined surface design together with the Thyssen-thermodach Agrotec roof element, designed especially for agricultural buildings.
On the margins of the show, ThyssenKrupp Stahl will be holding a symposium on fire resistant steel at the Praterinsel action forum in Munich on Wednesday, January 15, 2003: From 10.30 to 12.20 experts will present talks on the subjects "Steel in Architecture - Tradition and Modern", "Fire Resistant Steel - the Material", "Profiles of Fire Resistant Steel" and "Fire Protection in Industrial and Commercial Construction".
