Krupp Thyssen Nirosta GmbH, Krefeld, is to increase its base prices for stainless steel flat products by 50 euros per ton plus alloy surcharge for all new orders to be delivered as of April 1, 2002. The decision reflects a noticeable pick-up in demand for stainless steel flat products in Europe and other important world markets.

The company anticipates higher demand in 2002 than in 2001 which will see a return to normal growth rates for stainless steel flat products.
