Krupp Fördertechnik - new test plant for dryers and drying mills
When it comes to finding the ideal design for dryers and drying mills, theory is not enough. The differences in the properties of the materials and the way they behave during grinding and drying are too varied. To solve this problem, since 1999 Krupp Fördertechnik GmbH has been operating a test plant on which practical trials can be performed using the materials in question with a view to optimizing the specific design of dryer or drying mill equipment. The core units of this test plant are a rapid dryer, a Birotor hammer mill and a bar separator. The rapid dryer and Birotor hammer mill can be pressurized with hot gases.
This process gives customers greater security, especially in evaluating offers: equipment quoted by Krupp Fördertechnik GmbH on the basis of test plant trials are ideally matched to the drying and grinding requirements of the material in question. Design and size specifications are optimized, and guarantees regarding wear, grain size or throughput are reliable.
Krupp Fördertechnik´s test plant has been integrated in an existing test facility of Krupp Polysius AG. Krupp Polysius AG is one of the world´s leading engineering companies for the cement and primary materials industries. For size reduction, the core units of the Krupp Fördertechnik installation provide technical specifications on throughput, grain size, rotary speed, material guiding, crusher chamber configuration including layout and design of hammers, hammer path design and special types of wear. As regards drying, specifications are provided on drying processes for various materials, gas temperatures and pressures. The test plant also supplies information on gas generator requirements, specific power requirements and heat consumption.
In addition to trials aimed at optimizing quotations, Krupp Fördertechnik GmbH also uses its test plant to refine its core units with a view to extending their application range, for example to gypsum calcining.
