Hüller Hille enjoys continuing success with the nbh 95
US order being handled jointly with Giddings & Lewis
Robert Bosch GmbH has placed a further major order with the Diedesheim, Germany plant of Hüller Hille GmbH. The order takes in ten nbh 95 machining centers to be used at the US subsidiary Robert Bosch Corporation, Chassis Division, in St. Joseph, Michigan, to produce housings and covers for pressure intensifiers in common rail systems.
Launched last year by Hüller Hille, the nbh 95 has an unusually high torque for its price category of 324 Newton-meters. It is particularly suitable for the economical machining of cast iron and steel materials. The covers and housings at Robert Bosch Corporation, Chassis Division are made of gray iron and are each machined in two set-ups. In all there are eleven variants of these parts. Six-point clamping is provided for the covers and four-point clamping for the housings.
Giddings & Lewis LLC in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin is responsible for equipping the machining centers, including clamping fixtures, tools, machining software and start-up at Bosch in the USA. Like Hüller Hille, Giddings & Lewis is part of the Production Systems business unit in ThyssenKrupp`s Technologies segment. Production Systems is world market leader in metal-cutting machine tools. The cooperation between Hüller Hille and Giddings & Lewis shows that the international metal-cutting activities of ThyssenKrupp Technologies are geared to the globalization of the automobile and automotive supply sectors.
