HEK in good hands - access platform specialist changes owner
Thyssen Hünnebeck Systems & Services, Ratingen, has sold HEK International Group B.V., Netherlands, to the Swedish investor Atle AB, Sweden. The contract has just been signed. It still has to be approved by the German anti-trust authorities.
HEK, founded in 1962, is a leading international manufacturer of access and work platforms with 250 employees and annual sales of around _40 million. Under Atle's management the company will form the basis, together with Alimak, a previous competitor, of a globally active construction supplies group. Atle plans not just to preserve the status quo of the HEK group but to significantly expand sales and jobs. Thyssen Hünnebeck has thus succeeded in finding an owner for HEK who recognizes and intends to build on the strengths of the company.
The sale by Thyssen Hünnebeck Systems & Services is part of the company's ongoing concentration on services. In the future scaffolding and scaffolding-based industrial services as well as the marketing of formwork and scaffolding will be the company's core activities, which will be expanded nationally and internationally.
