Federal President Horst Köhler to visit Ideas Park AufSchalke
Germany`s Federal President Horst Köhler will be visiting the Ideas Park AufSchalke at 12.00 noon on Friday, September 3, 2004. Situated directly adjacent to the Arena AufSchalke soccer stadium, the 17,500 square meter Ideas Park will give visitors the opportunity to experience technology, innovations and ideas close up.
The Federal President will take a tour of the Ideas Park to take in the innovations on show, including the ultralight auto body, the world championship winning bobsleigh and innovative coating processes. The Federal President will be accompanied by ThyssenKrupp AG CEO Prof. Dr. Ekkehard Schulz.
"Discovering Future Technology" is the name of the initiative in which ThyssenKrupp AG - together with a host of partners from the worlds of science, business, sport, politics and the media - is aiming to communicate the fascination and benefits of technology to a broad public. Younger guests to the Ideas Park in particular will find plenty to see and do.
Joined by numerous children, Federal President Horst Köhler will visit the "School Student`s University" at the Ideas Park and attend an exciting presentation on chip technology.
As patron of "Jugend forscht", Federal President Horst Köhler will then be presented with unusual and spectacular ideas from this youth science competition by their inventors.
