Co-operation agreement on an apprenticeship forum between Blohm + Voss and FC St. Pauli
On Tuesday, November 28, Dr. Klaus Borgschulte, CEO of Blohm + Voss GmbH - a company of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems -, and Corny Littmann, chairman of FC St. Pauli von 1910 e.V., signed a co-operation agreement in the field of apprenticeship.
The agreement sets down that FC St. Pauli proposes up to three of its own up-and-coming sportsmen per apprenticeship year for an apprenticeship at Blohm + Voss. The applicants then go through the normal selection procedure with a professional aptitude test and an interview and receive an apprenticeship contract according to the usual standards at Blohm + Voss, if they are recruited.
One of the special features of this is that Blohm + Voss gives young people the opportunity to advance their sporting development and finds solutions, if major sporting events fall within the apprenticeship period. FC St. Pauli will provide support to "its" young people throughout the apprenticeship period and will always be available as a point of contact.
A total of 84 young people are currently completing an apprenticeship at Blohm + Voss. For 66 apprentices the focus is on professions with an industrial and technical angle such as construction, system and industrial mechanics; in addition, however, Blohm + Voss also trains draftsman and business people, for example. Additionally, 13 students are currently active at Blohm + Voss on basic and specialist training programmes.
