Best owner found for Krupp Berco Bautechnik
ThyssenKrupp Technologies AG made further progress in its active portfolio management with the signing of an agreement to sell Krupp Berco Bautechnik, Essen. The agreement is subject to the approval of the competition authorities.
The buyer is the Atlas Copco group headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. The Swedish company has 26,000 employees and sales of euros5.3 billion and is engaged in the fields of compressors, industrial and electrical tools as well as construction and drilling equipment. Atlas Copco intends to integrate Krupp Berco Bautechnik in its Construction Tools Division, thus augmenting its existing product range.
Krupp Berco Bautechnik was previously part of the Berco business unit of ThyssenKrupp Technologies. The successful Essen-based company (sales: euros65 million, employees: 420) produces hydraulic hammers, cutters and pulverizers for demolition and mining. Integration in the Atlas Copco group will give Berco Bautechnik an outstanding platform from which to continue its successful activities.
