Best owner for ThyssenKrupp Stahlbau found
As part of ThyssenKrupp Technologies? proactive portfolio-pruning program, a best owner has been found for ThyssenKrupp Stahlbau GmbH, Hannover.
The new owner is Certina Holding AG, a Munich-based midsize company, with five divisions (IT, Consumer Goods, Automotive, Mechanical Engineering, Plant Construction) and a workforce in the region of 1,100. The newcomer will strengthen the Plant Construction division.
For decades, ThyssenKrupp Stahlbau has specialized in complex, movable steel structures such as sluices, ship elevators, sliding roofs, conveyor systems, and bridges.
The acquisition took retroactive economic effect as of October 1, 2004.
Since the Thyssen/Krupp merger in 1999, so far companies worth total sales of ?6,2 billion have been disposed of and others worth ?7.0 billion taken over.
