ThyssenKrupp Elastomertechnik signs agreement to manufacture tire curing presses in India

In December last year, ThyssenKrupp Elastomertechnik GmbH, the world`s biggest manufacturer of machinery for the international tire industry, signed a further technical cooperation agreement with the Indian-based manufacturer Alfred Herbert India. The agreement relates to the manufacture of presses of the very latest design - so-called column curing presses - for the Indian market.

Following the agreement signed in 1999 for the manufacture of the first frame-type hydraulic curing presses for India, the two companies are now moving into the area of advanced machine technology for the production of high-performance radial tires and ultra-high-performance tires.

ThyssenKrupp Elastomertechnik`s Managing Director, Frank Horch, believes that India - particularly its tire sector - will play an important part on the world market and for ThyssenKrupp Elastomertechnik in the coming years. Against this background, the German global manufacturer is working with Alfred Herbert India to create a further base for Indian tire producers.

Cooperation with Alfred Herbert India started 10 years ago with projects for leading Indian tire producers such as J.K., Apollo and Ceat. ThyssenKrupp Elastomertechnik is now taking the next step with Alfred Herbert India toward selling highly complex machines.
