Container ship Christened at Nordseewerke

CAP CAMPBELL is the name of the latest 2,700 TEU container ship which has been christened on November 14 at Nordseewerke in Emden – a company of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems. The ship with the yard no. 554 was launched in July without ceremony.
The ship-naming ceremony took place in the presence of representatives of the customer, the shipping company, the charterer and the shipyard. Godmother was Mrs. Susanne Schön-Winkler, the wife of Guido Winkler – a member of the executive board of the customer, the GEBAB in Meerbusch. The ship will be run by the MARTIME shipping company in Elsfleth and has been chartered by Hamburg Süd.
The ship will leave for Bremerhaven on November 16, where it will be loaded for the first time. Then it will continue its journey via Antwerp, Philadelphia (USA, east coast), Savannah, to Cartagena (Columbia) and then through the Panama Canal to Australia.
