New synergies for industrial customers
Frankfurt am Main, October 5, 2009 – WISAG is taking over ThyssenKrupp Industrieservice GmbH from the Düsseldorf-based ThyssenKrupp Group with effect from October 1, 2009. The facility management services company headquartered in Frankfurt am Main is already operating in the market for services to production enterprises through WISAG Gebäude- und Industrieservice and WISAG Elektrotechnik. In acquiring this ThyssenKrupp subsidiary WISAG is supplementing its portfolio with production-related services.
“The acquisition of ThyssenKrupp Industrieservice represents for us a forward-pointing expansion of our capabilities in the direction of core processes for industrial customers,” states Michael C. Wisser, CEO of WISAG. “The expertise of the employees will position us closer to production. The strategic set-up will open up numerous synergies for both our present customers and those of ThyssenKrupp Industrieservice.” The takeover will enable WISAG to systematically expand its market presence. Whereas previously the range of services covered in particular the buildings of the production facility, the company can now provide production-related services, thus expanding the breath and depth of its value chain in this sector of industry.
ThyssenKrupp Industrieservice’s ongoing business will for the time being not undergo any changes; it is to continue to operate autonomously and the company will continue to offer its established services portfolio. “When it comes to integration, our principle is stability rather than speed. It’s important for us that the process settles down and that employees are given a new sense of security. After all, their knowl-edge and dedication are the foundations for the company’s economic success,” says Wolfgang Winter, WISAG Management Board member and in charge of Industrial Services.
“We’re confident that in the form of WISAG we have found a reliable partner for ThyssenKrupp Industrieservice, one that will develop the company according to the best-owner principle,” says Edwin Eichler, a member of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp AG. "The experience we gained with WISAG in selling our facility services subsidiary HiServ was extremely positive."
Düsseldorf-based ThyssenKrupp Industrieservice GmbH, with a workforce of over 12,500 full- and part-time employees and sales of more than €300 million, is one of Europe’s biggest industrial services providers. The company specializes in taking over labor-intensive functions for production plants in the auto and auto-component industries, the metal-production sector, the plant and machinery sectors, and the food, paper and printing industries. The company’s success is attributable to its widely ranging capabilities combined with profound specialization. The lineup embraces maintenance, supply chain services (in-plant logistics, in-production support), industrial facility services (location services, technical cleaning), and industrial assembly and installation.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The deal is subject to approval by the relevant bodies including the normal review by the antitrust authorities.
