ThyssenKrupp Sasa officially opened
ThyssenKrupp Sasa S.A. de C.V. today inaugurated its new plant in San Luis Potosi. Numerous guests from the worlds of politics, administration and business - most notably the Governor of the state of San Luis Potosi, Lic. Fernando Silva Nieto - attended the ceremony and then took a tour of the modern production facilities for coil springs, stabilizer bars and torsion bars.
In fiscal year 2000/2001, ThyssenKrupp Sasa had 580 employees and sales of 50 million euros. Some two thirds of these sales were to customers in Mexico (35%) and the USA (30%), with Canada and Germany each accounting for a further 15%, and 5% going to Japan.
ThyssenKrupp Sasa, formerly Krupp Hoesch Sasa, was established in 1968 and originally produced torsion bars and rear axle struts. Stabilizer bars were added in 1970, and the range was further extended in 1978 to include coil springs. Construction of the current plant in San Luis Potosi started in 2000. In 2002, the production capacities of the plants in Hamilton, USA, and Tlalnepantla, Mexico, were combined in the San Luis Potosi facility.
Alongside vehicle manufacturers Volkswagen, General Motors, Ford, DaimlerChrysler, BMW, Nissan and Suzuki, main customers also include automotive suppliers ZF Lemförder and Tower Automotive.
ThyssenKrupp Sasa is a subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp Federn GmbH, Werdohl, Germany. ThyssenKrupp Federn is part of the Chassis business unit of Thyssen Krupp Automotive AG, one of the world`s biggest automotive supply companies.
