ThyssenKrupp Services is launched

ThyssenKrupp Services AG is launched as of October 1. The new company leading the group`s services segment has been created out of the ThyssenKrupp Materials AG and the ThyssenKrupp Serv AG. Services stands for sales of eleven billion euro and has circa 38,000 employees, a good third thereof work abroad. Its circa 600 locations are distributed across the world, with emphasis on Germany, European neighbors and the USA. The company`s headquarters are in Düsseldorf.

After the sale of the scaffold and formwork business as well as the pending disinvestments in IT activities, Services stands predominantly for process and supply services for manufacturing as well as processing industry. This includes maintenance, production support, technical services for the construction and upkeep of plants and buildings, facility management as well as warehouse and logistic solutions. Add to this a variety of processing levels and the just-in-time delivery of materials, up to system solutions and taking over full supply chain management for international customers. The worldwide direct and trading business in steel and pipes, service activities in the track construction and civil engineering areas as well as the distribution of metallurgic products, minerals and coke specialties round off the range of services.

The segment`s primary markets are Europe and the NAFTA region. Services sees particularly good opportunities for growth in Eastern Europe. For quite some time now, this area has been experiencing disproportionately high economic growth with backlog demand for higher grade materials and industrial services.

ThyssenKrupp Services AG`s management team comprises of Edwin Eichler (Chairman), Dr. Eckart Brockfeld (Controlling), Günther Giffels (Industrial Services), Joachim Limberg (Materials Services), Reinhard Quint (Special Products) and Prof. Dr. Rolf Reppel (Personnel).
