Supervisory Board agrees to merger of ThyssenKrupp Werften and HDW
At its extraordinary meeting held in Essen on October 22, 2004, ThyssenKrupp Technologies AG`s Supervisory Board agreed to the merger between ThyssenKrupp Werften and HDW to form a new group under the management of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems AG. Concurrently, the Board gave its consent to the group`s future industrial structure-that of a divisional-style management with best possible product allocation among the production facilities as well as the formation of an autonomous company for Kiel-based surface vessel construction. ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems AG is to be headquartered in Hamburg.
The merger can be consummated once ThyssenKrupp AG`s Supervisory Board and the relevant antitrust authorities have given their go-aheads.
