PeinigerRöRo acquires presence in Spain

PeinigerRöRo GmbH, Gelsenkirchen (Germany), a company of ThyssenKrupp Serv AG, Düsseldorf (Germany), specializing in industrial services and building maintenance, has acquired a 100% interest in Rodisola S.A., Tarragona (Spain), with retroactive effect at January 1, 2003. The acquisition further strengthens PeinigerRöRo`s presence in Europe and gives it a leading position in the high-growth Spanish market for industrial scaffold services.

Rolf-Bernd Maas, Chairman of PeinigerRöRo`s Management Board and member of the ThyssenKrupp Serv Executive Board, explained the reasons behind the acquisition: "Rodisola gives us a presence in all of Spain`s key industrial locations. Scaffolding is the platform from which we provide further industrial services, such as corrosion protection and insulation. We are now in a position to offer our services to our international customers on the Iberian peninsula."

Rodisola S.A. was formed in 1975 and was previously family-owned. As Spain`s leading provider of industrial scaffold services, the company numbers major international chemical and petrochemical concerns such as Repsol-YPF, BASF, Dow Chemicals, Solvay, BP, General Electric Plastics and Repsol-Química among its customers. Rodisola has 370 employees and sales of approx. 15.4 million euros. Previous Managing Director Conrado Marin and previous managing partner Manuel Raventós will continue to run the company.

With a 3,800-strong workforce, PeinigerRöRo offers global services for the construction, maintenance and repair of industrial facilities and buildings. Its range includes both "classic" scaffolding and shoring systems as well as the full spectrum of surface engineering services (corrosion protection, concrete repair) and insulation. PeinigerRöRo`s customers are found mainly in the chemical, petrochemical, shipbuilding and energy sectors. Sales in the fiscal year ending September 30, 2002 were 329 million euros. The Management Board comprises Rolf-Bernd Maas, Hans-Rudolf Orgs and Georg Kürfgen.
