ThyssenKrupp System Engineering moves into truck business
Nothelfer Planung GmbH, a subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp System Engineering, will be presenting a prototype “light truck cab” at the 2008 IAA Commercial Vehicles show. Working closely with the customer, the engineering specialists from Wadern-Lockweiler designed and built all the necessary prototype tools and fixtures in the space of only twelve weeks. They also handled the production of the truck cab as a bolted assembly.
Nothelfer Planung with its method/stamping plant planning and forming simulation departments is closely involved in product development right from the concept design stage, which significantly reduces lead times. The result of this integrated product and process development is a production-ready product which can be reliably produced in large volumes, thus reducing costs for the truck manufacturer significantly.
For Nothelfer Planung this project represents a successful move into the truck business. The know-how gained is already being used in further projects.
