"Discovering future training - at ThyssenKrupp" ThyssenKrupp participating in "Technology Day" in Düsseldorf
The Federal Ministry for Education and Research has declared 2004 the "Year of Technology". As part of this, a "Technology Day" is to be held in Düsseldorf on June 18 and 19, 2004, with the city center being used as a stage to present interesting aspects of technology. The aim is to show how exciting, wide-ranging and challenging the world of technology is for young people and to highlight the attractive careers available in technology. Organizers hope the Technology Day will help overcome barriers and get young people, in particular, interested in technology.
For example, the nanoTruck will be presenting the world of nanotechnology. On Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz, visitors can try their hand at welding the world`s longest welding bead and in the "Kö-Galerie" a technology rally is being held for school students. ThyssenKrupp has its own exhibition marquee where apprentices and teachers will be presenting a selection of the many apprenticeships available at ThyssenKrupp under the motto "Discovering future training - at ThyssenKrupp" on Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 18 and 19, 2004.
This contribution to "Technology Day" is part of the "Discovering future technology" initiative with which ThyssenKrupp aims to underline the importance of innovations for Germany`s future as a business location, an initiative which will culminate in an "ideas park" from September 2 - 4, 2004 outside the Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen.
