“Nirosta-Adler young people’s award” supports youth voluntary work in Krefeld
It is open to individuals and groups under the age of 21 from the south of Krefeld (the Stahldorf and Fischeln districts). The award focuses on projects involving voluntary work with children and adolescents, handicapped and elderly people, as well as in migrant integration projects. But voluntary activities in the areas of environmental protection and nature conservation will also be considered. Applicants for the award need to submit their full application documents by the end of February 2011. A panel comprising representatives from ThyssenKrupp Nirosta and DJK SV Adler Königshof will consider the nominations in April 2011. The winners will be honored at a DJK comedy evening to be staged in the auditorium of the Maria-Sybilla-Merian high school on May 27, 2011 featuring the well-known satirist Volker Pispers. The award winners will receive certificates and a stainless steel trophy. The award cash prize will be used to continue the project.
The application documents and terms and conditions of entry can be downloaded at www.nirosta-adler-jugendfoerderpreis.de from October 18. Posters will be hung in churches, youth centers and social institutions to advertise the award. Information will also be sent to the schools, churches and sports clubs in the catchment area.
In instigating this award, ThyssenKrupp Nirosta and DJK SV Adler Königshof want to create a platform for the diverse voluntary and social activities of young people and hope to attract as many applicants as possible. The aim is that it should not be just about winners and losers, but also about togetherness, tolerance and integration – both at the sports club and among the team at ThyssenKrupp Nirosta.
