Business relations between Chile and ThyssenKrupp go back 150 years. In 1854, the first coining press was supplied to the Chilean Mint. Today, sales to customers in Chile focus mainly on the supply and processing of steel products as well as the distribution, installation and maintenance of elevators and escalators. In the local companies the Group employs 380 people.

ThyssenKrupp Aceros y Servicios S.A. based in Santiago de Chile is a stockholding distributor and service company mainly selling plates and processed blanks in special structural steels to customers in Chile, Colombia, Peru, Argentina and Uruguay. The subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp Stahl AG gives the Heavy Plate Profit Center direct access to one of the world's key markets for high-strength, wear-resistant special structural steels. The materials are used mainly for machinery and equipment in the numerous mines in these countries.

Elevator is represented in Chile by a subsidiary, ThyssenKrupp Elevadores S.A.. Its portfolio includes the sale, installation and servicing of elevators and escalators.
