On November 20, 1811 Friedrich Krupp laid the foundation stone in Essen for one of the most traditional of Germany's industrial companies. Nowadays, ThyssenKrupp is one of the largest technology groups in Europe. The anniversary is being marked with a ceremony at Villa Hügel on Sunday, November 20.
The TV channel Phoenix shows a three-hour special on Sunday, November 20: In addition to documentaries on the history of the company, 45 minutes of highlights from the ceremony will be shown from 4.15 p.m. and then repeated over the coming weeks on Phoenix. Further television and radio reports are also to be expected.
