Product stewardship

Innovations and technical progress are key factors in mastering the challenges we face in the areas of natural resources and infrastructure. And this is exactly where ThyssenKrupp's strengths lie: Our engineering competencies enable our customers to stand out from the global competition and manufacture innovative products efficiently while conserving resources. With our engineering expertise and experience in the areas of "Material", "Mechanical" and "Plant", we can provide "better" ways to achieve "more".

Our solutions help our customers with environmental and climate protection. When developing our innovative materials, components, system solutions and plants, we ever since place great value on environmental compatibility, energy efficiency, climate protection and recyclability. In view of the global trend, these aspects will become even more important for our customers in the future than they already are today. Accordingly, the different aspects of environmental and climate protection play a fundamental role in all our innovation processes.

ThyssenKrupp has an outstanding engineering competency. For our company it is therefore of high relevance to further strengthening innovation management, research and the development of complex products and services. Consequent product responsibility for ThyssenKrupp means looking the whole value chain of products – e.g. via Lifecycle Analysis (LCA) e.g. according to the norm ISO 14025. To this end, all new systems and components for elevators, escalators and moving walks will undergo Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to ensure sustainable efficiency over the whole life cycle of each and every product.
