Ideas Workshop

During the 2008 Ideas Park in Stuttgart, visitors had several opportunities every day to develop suggestions on important topics for the future in the Ideas Workshop.

In the Ideas Workshop sessions, up to 100 participants at a time exchanged ideas and opinions on the subjects of technology, education and society. Around 5,000 people have already taken part in 50 individual discussion forums at the Ideas Park Hanover in 2006 and in Stuttgart in 2008 – that makes the Ideas Workshop Germany’s largest future workshop.

Reduce pensions in favor of education?
One of many interesting questions discussed in the online Ideas Workshop.

Following the discussion forums, thousands of individual contributions were scientifically analyzed and collated into a representative set of core statements to make the future expectations of the younger generation transparent. And in the public debate on technology, education and participation by the general public, the Ideas Workshop ensured the voice of youth was heard – on a sound scientific basis, free of polemics and ideology. At the Ideas Park, young people also had the opportunity to discuss their ideas directly with leading politicians such as Germany’s then Vice Chancellor Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Education Minister Annette Schavan.
