Help for Pakistan
The ThyssenKrupp workforce all over the world collected donations to support reconstruction in Pakistan.
The floods in Pakistan in summer 2010 were a humanitarian disaster. The masses of water killed thousands of people and made around 20 million – half of them children – homeless. The floods covered an area the size of Italy and destroyed most of the infrastructure and the fields – and the harvest with them – in the affected areas. Even though the masses of water have now retreated from much of the affected area, many people still cannot return to their homes and are living in temporary accommodation.

In cooperation with its long-standing partner, the Kindernothilfe charity, ThyssenKrupp launched a Groupwide donation appeal to help the flood victims in Pakistan. ThyssenKrupp AG doubled every euro donated by employees. Kindernothilfe will use the money for emergency aid measures as well as for long-term reconstruction projects. ThyssenKrupp AG has also made an additional donation toward reconstruction projects in Pakistan.
