Social commitment
A strong commitment to our communities, the creation of a positive environment and enthusing people for technology are a matter of course for ThyssenKrupp.
In line with the long-standing traditions of Thyssen and Krupp, we regard ourselves as an active member of the community and support initiatives close to our locations through donations, sponsorships and other means. This benefits both sides – company and community. We strengthen our social environment and at the same time create conditions which have an important influence on the sustainable success of the company.
Environmental project at an Brazilian cooperation school
Long-term and trusting partnerships with various groups in society are central to ThyssenKrupp’s successful cooperation. At Group level, we have been supporting major projects such as the “Discovering Future Technology” initiative, cooperation with the “Jugend forscht” youth science competition and membership of the Knowledge Factory or “Initiativkreis Ruhr” for many years. Groupwide employee donation appeals are also organized in the event of extraordinary natural disasters such as earthquakes or floods.
Our Group companies provide support at their locations above all in the areas of science, education, social affairs, the environment, art, culture and sport on the basis of priorities defined by ThyssenKrupp. We also regard ourselves as a constructive partner in contacts with government and administrative representatives at international, national, regional and local level. In addition to the many projects in the Group companies, the voluntary work carried out by our employees is also expressly welcomed and supported.
