Education

ThyssenKrupp sees education as an area of major importance for the future. We are firmly convinced that education is the key to making the next generation fit for the challenges of the future. ThyssenKrupp therefore supports a wide range of activities at all levels of society.

We feel it is particularly important to promote education as early as possible. Since state education systems cannot fully cover all areas of knowledge, we support individual projects designed to teach children and young people key skills for their future and how to enjoy learning while they are still at school.

As a global, integrated materials and technology group, ThyssenKrupp has a particular interest in encouraging young people to take up so-called MINT subjects (Mathematics, IT, Natural sciences and Technology) and arouse their enthusiasm for these areas at an early age. One-off events – such as the “Jugend forscht” youth science competition – can be defining moments that win young people over to technology and science.

With these and other projects, we are contributing to the social debate on technology and science and reinforcing the importance of technical professions and studies. To open up future prospects for young people, we work closely with schools and universities in Germany and abroad to support the dialogue between education, research and industry.
