ThyssenKrupp Technologies is subdivided into Plant Technology, Marine Systems and Components Technology – business units whose innovative body-in-white, chassis/suspension, power train products for cars and commercial vehicles, and high-grade plant and machinery, engineering systems, and marine products all command worldwide strong positions in the capital goods markets.

Plant Technology

The Plant Technology business unit covers activities in specialty/large-scale plant construction, in particular (petro)chemical complexes, cement plants, conveyor, coking technology, assembly systems for the automotive industry and core maglev components. In chemical and related plant construction we are international technology pacemakers in the markets for fertilizer, electrolysis, gas, coking, polymer, refinery and pharmaceutical complexes. Other areas of emphasis are cement production plant and machinery including the downstream services. ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik is an operating group within this business unit widely involved in the building of mining, processing and materials handling systems and plants worldwide.

Marine Systems

With its know-how, products and innovative strength, ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems sets global standards in naval and civil shipbuilding and ranks among the leading system suppliers in the international shipbuilding industry. Together with their subsidiaries in Germany and abroad, the companies of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems are the product of a long shipbuilding tradition, in some cases reaching back hundreds of years, a tradition characterized by innovative developments and high technological standards.

Today the activities of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems focus on the development and building of submarines and surface naval vessels, civil shipbuilding, ship repair and conversion, and component development and integration.

Components Technology

The Components Technology business unit is the home of component manufacturers with leading positions in the global market. The product range includes steering and damping systems, the complete process chain of bodywork technology, innovative system solutions, camshafts and crankshafts, precision forgings and castings.

The customer portfolio includes almost all well known manufacturers of cars and commercial vehicles. In addition rings and slewing bearings that are essential for solar and wind energy systems, tunnel mining machines and offshore technology, industrial robots and in magnetic resonance tomography. The product range is supplemented by running gear for tracked construction machinery such as excavators and bulldozers.
