Inoxum

The activities of the Inoxum group are divided into two segments: the Stainless Steel segment stands for the worldwide production, processing and distribution of stainless steel flat products. The High Performance Alloys segment brings together the production and distribution of high-performance materials such as nickel alloys, titanium and zirconium. Companies with plants in Germany, Italy, Mexico, China and the USA employing roughly 11,500 people (as at September 30, 2011; including apprentices) are organized in the Inoxum group.

Operations are currently managed by lead company ThyssenKrupp Nirosta GmbH. Other major operating companies within the Inoxum group include ThyssenKrupp Acciai Speciali Terni S.p.A. in Italy, ThyssenKrupp Mexinox S.A. de C.V. in Mexico and the joint venture Shanghai Krupp Stainless Co., Ltd. in China. ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA, LLC. is building a new plant for stainless steel flat products in the US state of Alabama. The plant is currently being ramped up. ThyssenKrupp Stainless International GmbH is responsible for all stainless distribution and service activities not covered by the production companies. The high-performance materials business is operated by ThyssenKrupp VDM GmbH, a producer of nickel alloys, titanium, titanium alloys and zirconium with plants in Germany and the USA.
