Born 1967, studied business administration at the Universities of Mannheim and Toulon, doctorate in 1996.
Professional career:
From 1993 to 1996 Dr. Alan Hippe was a research assistant at the University of Mainz and a teaching assistant at the University of Mannheim. From 1996 to 1998 he was head of group controlling and IT systems at AVECO Holding AG, Frankfurt am Main, before moving in 1998 to Fraport AG, Frankfurt am Main to become senior vice president controlling, finance and accounting. From June 2002 to February 2009 Dr. Hippe was a member of the executive board of Continental AG, Hanover where as chief financial officer he was responsible for finance, controlling and legal affairs. In August 2008 he was appointed vice chairman of the executive board of the Continental group. In addition he was President of Continental Tire of North America from May 2005, head of the global car tire business from April 2008 and head of Conti Rubber from October 2008.
Since April 2009 Dr. Alan has been a member of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp AG with responsibility for Controlling, Accounting & Financial Reporting, Corporate Finance, Investor Relations, Mergers & Acquisitions, Taxes & Customs and Materials Management. Since October 2009 he has also been responsible for ThyssenKrupp Business Services.
