Hans Fischer
Chairman of the Management Board of Business Area Steel Americas of ThyssenKrupp AG
Born in 1956, in the Dutch town of Nijmegen, studied mechanical engineering and earned his degree as engineer at Eindhoven University.
Career:
In 1985, he embarked on his professional career as project manager in the New Building department of Hoogovens Staal BV, afterwards Corus Ijmuiden. He worked there until 2000, his last position was director of the steel works and divisional head of Marketing USA.
In 2001 Hans Fischer joined Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH as Technical Managing Director; in 2004 he was appointed Chairman of the Management Board. In 2005, he took over as chief representative of Salzgitter AG and Chairman of the Executive Board of Salzgitter Stahl GmbH. Hans Fischer became member of the Executive Board of Salzgitter AG in 2006.
In February 2010, Hans Fischer joined the ThyssenKrupp Group, where he is CEO for the Business Area Steel Americas.
